About
Noah Stakenborg (they/them) is a musician, creator, and cultural producer, and a graduate of the Utrecht Conservatory (HKU Jazz & Pop). Their practice exists at the intersection of music and storytelling, with a strong focus on groove, collaboration, and creating meaningful musical experiences.
As a musician, Noah is active in various bands and projects, including PARRA.DICE and Bovenste Knoopje Open. They also perform on double bass with artists such as Tyler McCullough, Petronella, and USConcert. Across these diverse contexts, Noah continues to develop a broad musical language that allows space for both collective energy and personal expression.
Alongside their performance work, Noah is deeply engaged in artistic creation. In performances and collaborations—such as Lennox (RightAboutNow INC) and Cultureel Zwerfgoed (Ensemble ZOEF)—they explore how music can interact with text, performance, and social themes.
The core of their artistic practice comes together in the project Schaduwspel. In this narrative musical ensemble, Noah collaborates with four musicians to create a layered combination of music and spoken word. From the stage, they pose a central question: how can we truly reconnect with one another in today’s world? Schaduwspel creates space for reflection and encounter, where music acts as a mirror for what lives within and between people.
Driven by a strong creative impulse and curiosity, Noah continues to search for new ways to tell stories and foster connection—both within and beyond music.

Schaduwspel
Schaduwspel is a narrative musical project featuring Jeline Weening (she/her) on saxophone, Dimairon Catal (he/him) on drums, Chris Muller (he/him) on piano, Sacha Palies (he/him) on double bass, and Noah Stakenborg (they/them) on guitar. In addition to performing, Noah delivers spoken texts that center on the question of how we can truly reconnect with one another in today’s world—something they believe is more necessary than ever.
